Portugal O Meeting 2023 - Day 2 (part 2) Night Sprint. Not what my body needed after a long race in the morning - a frantic 16 minutes of racing around an old town. Made a few minor errors which impacted position but otherwise it was ok. #orienteering #pom2023

Portugal O Meeting 2023 - Day 2 (Long). Perhaps more runnable throughout than yesterday but a lot more rocks. The first half was mostly ok, but went wrong at 10 which knocked my confidence and I slowed for the rest of the course. The longer legs were much easier thanks to the crossing points which were obvious. Now to rest before tonight's sprint. #orienteering #POM2023

Portugal O Meeting 2023 - Day 1 (Middle). The first half was quite technical with plenty of undergrowth underfoot to slow the better runners down. The second half was very runnable and fast. Made a few errors but pleased with 25/68. Fantastic atmosphere at the event centre. #orienteering #POM2023

Yesterday was the Portugal O Meeting model event - a chance to get out and practice on the terrain. Lots of contour detail hidden by scattered trees and plenty of mapped (and unmapped) boulders and rocks. No one could work out what made certain trees distinctive. #Orienteering #POM2023
