#CMSPaper 1205: Some particle collisions look like they make particles but can also be seen as relatively incohesive blobs of #particles like #quarks and #gluons. These effective particles are referred to as #pomerons.

This paper is the first time pomerons are measured in lead-proton collisions! These results show the theory calculations of these are pretty bad, so the data will also help in modeling #cosmicray air showers.
