I always wear a cycle helmet. But can we please have some data behind the level of risk . This kind of messaging portrays cycling as being bigger danger than it it really is.

Factor in the health benefits of cycling, if more people cycled (irrespective of helmet wearing) the population would be healthier.

Hi all,
Dr. Doreen Montag, Senior Lecturer in Global Public Health at Queen Mary University of London, asked me to circulate this call for abstracts from those interested in presenting at a workshop on An Eco-health Approach to Iron-Deficiency Anemia (IDA) in the context of climate change on March 27, from 2-4 pm. I've attached the circular, but the gist is that possible areas may include food insecurity due to climate change/biodiversity loss, indigenous knowledge, urbanization and sanitation, deteriorating ecosystems and gut microbiota and various others.

We show pregnancies not ending in live births associated with worse physical health in mid- to later life among women, possibly due to unsafe #abortion; or health issues/stress linked to #miscarriage.

“Importantly, in my view, the term ‘genetically similar to’ also helps to avoid the assumption of homogeneity within labels; ‘similar to’ does not imply ‘same as’. Similarity-based sample descriptors also move us some way to acknowledging the continuous nature of #geneticvariation across #humangroups in our sample descriptions. I am more genetically similar to some samples than I am to others, but that does not imply that there are natural groupings. Nor do similarity-based labels imply how I, as an individual, might choose to identify or what distribution of environments I might experience. For example, a person may be genetically similar to 1000 #Genomes samples labeled Southern Asian, yet in itself this similarity does not identify them as Southern Asian, whereas stating that a person has ‘Southern Asian #geneticancestry ’ comes much closer to making that linkage in people’s minds.
