For me paper is sacred, it has the potential of become anything and also it comes from trees, cotton or sugar cane plants. For that reason I try to use even the smallest scraps in my prototypes and experiments.

This is a by celebrated children's author Jan Michał Pieńkowski. He sadly passed away earlier this year aged 85.

He was a Polish-born British writer and illustrator famous for illustrating the Meg and Mog series by Helen Niccoll and creating the popular popupbooks Haunted House, Robot, Dinner Time, Good Night and many others. He was nominated for the international Hans Christian Andersen Award twice, 1982 and 2008.
