#CarlosPizzaroLeongomez was was the "Commandante Maximo" of guerilla movement M-19, from 1986 to 8th march 1990,

At that date, he came back to civilian life, being granted pardon, and decided to believe in the "democratic process" initiated to reach "national reconciliation" after 20 years of bloodbaths between the army backed by CIA, the narcos, the paramilitary and the M-19.

He then ran for office in the presidential elections of 1990, for the Left and was credited with much odds to win.

On April 26 1990, inside of a plane, he was murdered by one of his bodyguards that shot a full magazine at him.

That's how the narcos, para and government respected their word of a "sacred truce" during the campaign.

31 years later, through all obstacles, Colombia eventually has a popular government of progress and social equity.
