#Portainer can help a lot with simplicity. Especially if you all in on containers.

Personally, I taken immense advantage #nomad is a distributed job orchestrator. First and foremost.

It's allowed to schedule jobs for containers, microvm, system containers, wasm, and systemd spawn. And that's "only" the stuff I messed with throughout the years. 🙃 All thanks to it's versatility. 😅

@zeab coincidentally, I recently started moving my setup to a simpler approach with #dockercompose with #Portainer
Sad that Mitchel Hashimoto hasn't said anything publicly (yet?) about the company's new direction: though it's not his company anymore, it is his legacy.
Anyway, I'm happy how my services are coming back online very quickly because of less moving parts.

Ich gebs auf .... ich hab jetzt zum xten mal versucht Paperless-ngx im LXC container über docker zu installieren ... es geht nicht.

Alles mögliche verändert usw. bestimmt 20 Installationen angeschubst ... jetzt mag ich nicht mehr.

Muss es jetzt halt in einer VM mit docker laufen ... das funktionierte auf anhieb.

Why #portainer? 😩

Portainer c'est cool, j'en suis totalement satisfait. C'est hyper pratique d'avoir une UI web pour gérer ses services conteneurisés, dont le code est versionné sur un git.

Par contre, y'a une feature vraiment primordiale pour moi qui est uniquement dans le plan payant (Business), c'est le re-pull des images sur la mise à jour auto des services via git.

Ça m'oblige à soit me casser la tête à versionner mes images avec des tags, soit à payer l'abo (149$/y)

For anyone running #Apache #Guacamole for #RemoteDesktop stuff, build the server from source they say "has" to be built from source (?? Why??) or use Docker?

(Beginning to think I should have #Portainer on the #LXC container running #Authentik to manage stacks, but that's probably serious overkill versus just using watchtower to keep things updated)
