How? Well - the source code simply leaked in '22.
There are at least two other ports already: WipEout Phantom Edition / unnamed project by developer XProger.
Legal or not - are we approaching a new era not to be stopped? Code is there with no assets to continue policing the stuff everywhere.

The #NintendoSwitch hardware is at least 7 years old! It has less than half the RAM of any current-gen consoles. A mobile-like CPU/GPU combo. It has to be a massive challenge.
The #Doom3 port on the original Xbox comes to mind.

平将門公が京で取り調べを受けている時に、京都御所の紫宸殿で当時まだ東宮(皇太子)だった朱雀天皇の元服の儀が行われ、その恩赦により将門公は釈放されて領地に帰国する事が出来たそうで、その事を恩義に感じた将門公は紫宸殿前にあった桜を十数株ほど枝分けしてもらい、岩井の地に持ち帰って植えた
