The bus comes at 4:25 and 4:55 and I get out of work at 4:30. So I was thinking I’d be loitering at the stop for a bit.
The 4:25 bus showed up 10 minutes late, exactly as I arrived at the stop. An auspicious end to my work day.

Have a beer and build your own terrarium in Portland.
@augieray In other news, if there are people who recognize that #COVIDIsAirborne and that #COVIDIsNotOver, in #Boston or #PortlandME or #NewHaven, who'd like to meet up to sing madrigals outdoors, or indoors with ventilation and negative rapid tests, hit me up!
Doesn't even have to be madrigals. Anglican chant, barbershop quartet, whatever, you won't believe how flexible I will be about repertoire as long as it's COVID-safe 🤪

Renters are 53-54% of residents (people) in #portlandme. Landlords are important, of course.
My local #SCA group is marching in the parade today. These are two of my best friends. #pride #portlandpride #portlandmaine #portlandme

Here in Portland, Maine, residents will be voting on a rent control referendum soon. I was driving along yesterday and saw one of these signs.
I did a quick WTF, but realized it must be satirical. Looked it up and the artist has several designs out there and they're apparently causing confusion. I don't know if that makes me happy or sad.

"#portlandme’s [Dougherty Court] proposal seeks to fill the dearth of three- and four- bedroom apartments that larger families require, whereas the Avesta proposal sought to create mostly one-bedroom and studio apartments."
4 #portlandme city councilors voted against Dougherty Court/Douglass Commons. Mayor Snyder because Douglass Yards "is not requesting money from the city’s Housing Fund, which supports the construction of affordable housing in the city."

🚲I like biking in the city (yes, #portlandme is a city) in the summer. Why? More interactions, more outdoors sounds, more smells. The over stimulus is relaxing to me.
🚲 Biking (yes, I know 🚲 and "biking" is duplicative) stories from #portlandme: Monday, Memorial Day here, my son and I biked from the house to Saint John St. (Maine Hardware, Subway) and it was great. No I'm tireds. We both dug the USM roundabout--the subject of another note.
I think more in #portlandme discussion interpret a mom and pop landlord to be of a scale it does not have employees. What is a mom and pop is important, and I think there's more agreement about what that definition should be. 4/
I assume, and I don't know if others agree -- it seems like those chatting about #portlandme housing may, mom and pop rentals are not managed by a management company. The National Association of Realtors mixes these. 2/
Lunch ended up being a chicken sandwich with grilled onions and sriracha mayo from Shay’s Grill Pub. It was very good.
Hey #portlandme - if you're interested and able, the city's rent board I believe can still use volunteers. It's a good way to get involved in city matters. Housing's a big one! https://onboard.portlandmaine.gov/board/4376
