Ooooh, for at least part of my "actually speak to humans" quest at #positconf2023 (https://fosstodon.org/@jonthegeek/111014145975617099), I'm going to play the alphabet game (people whose nametag-names begin with each letter of the alphabet, bonus points for accents, etc). Maybe for affiliations, too. That will give me a way to pick out a random person in a crowd and go talk to them. "Hello, Xavier! I'm Jon!", etc. #RStats #introverted

In this month’s Amstat News “My ASA Story”, I got the oppurtunity to discuss how transformative being in the ASA and attending their conferences has been for me.
