Elements of the Polish 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade under Stalisław Maczek survived both the German invasion and the Battle of France & were reconstituted in Scotland. .
The #Polish First Armoured Division (1. Dywizja Pancerna) in Britain, under the command of General Stanisław Maczek, was finally formed 25 February 1942.

The iconic #Prague Castle (Hradčany) became a patriotic symbol and thus featured on the 1st #postage #stamps of the republic in 1918.
The creator was Alfons Mucha. Famed in the west for his French Art Nouveau designs, he saw himself as a #Czech patriot and designed stamps, banknotes, and even the coat of arms for the new state.
The vista was a common one, but note the similarity between the stamp, Marie Jančáková-Přibilová's #NewYear greeting and a New Year's card that I inherited.
