Hey devs: anyone know of a good alternative to #PostMan that doesn't require a login/account or store your data on a server?

WTF #postman app?

I usually use hurl or just curl to debug HTTP backends, but now and again some projects' "documentation" is in postman collections.

So I opened up postman for this old project. I now¹ suddenly have to create an account, and upload all my data just to use postman collections?

Good projects should ditch postman collections immediately: if they pull such crap today, imagine what they'll do to hold you hostage once you really invested in it?

I took a look at Postman's login flow today. What is postman.co doing there?

I know that the domain also belongs to postman, which is the only reason why I do not automatically assume that they have been compromised. But I am still puzzled why anyone would do that.

@NatureMC yes, i’ve been thibking about this a lot. Quite a few of articles on the #Heatwave in #Phoenix and elsewhere this summer focussed on #Amazon #Deliveroo etc people trying to cope, their strategies foe trying to get through the day. Abd in #Houston a #postman was one of the first reported fatalities. Yet another dimension of injustice. #ClimateJustice #ClimateEmergency

What are your favorite #oss alternatives to #Postman for business?

So, the API tool Postman is discontinuing support for local-only operation next month, requiring users to migrate to cloud-based "workspaces" instead. I use it for a few personal projects and accounts and don't particularly feel thrilled about having to upload keys/secrets/etc to carry on using it. Is there an alternative to Postman which people think is better?

#postman really needs to improve their log, I should be able to one click copy a request so send to a bug report.

If you use #postman for #api work be aware they are moving away from offline and encouraging you to go to their cloud offering. #Insomnia is a great solution as an alternative #developer #infosec #cybersecurity
