Ich habe hier von der alten Arbeitsstelle noch eine Kiste (schätzungsweise 15 Stück) Motorola G4 Play Smartphones (Dual Sim, Android 7, #LineageOS 17.1 und #PostmarketOS support) mit Displayschäden unterschiedlicher Ausprägung. Technisch funktionieren die allermeisten Telefone sonst,nur ein paar wenige sind nur noch als Ersatzteilspender zu gebrauchen.
Ich nehme die auf's #cccamp23 mit und wer mag, kann sich gern eins oder mehrere abholen kommen :) (Vorher bitte Bescheid geben)

We recently discovered that the #libcamera + #pipewire stack was actually broken on most distros for devices requiring an IPA - such as the #PinePhonePro and other mobile phones - when using distro-packages and not building either of the two projects from source.

#ArchLinux / #Manjaro and #Alpine / #postmarketOS have updates for that in the pipe now.

#debian got that fix a bit earlier already, #Fedora will likely follow soon.

tl;dr: the modern linux camera stack is slowly falling into place.

@gnumdk I have been trying to add my Gmail account in Geary on #postmarketOS for a bit and still can't. I'm running Plasma Mobile and have installed the missing secrets provider, and gnome-control-center as that's apparently needed for goa. But when prompted to add the online account GOA does nothing when I tap on any of the providers. 😔

I'm working on adding Dozing support to gnome-settings-daemon.

Made some progress today, here we can see Geary (patched for this task) pulling emails in 12 seconds, allowing system to sleep again.

Just built last gnome-mobile master (GNOME 44) on PMOS, the "closing last window crash" is fixed, finally usable for me :)

The demonstration uses the regular GNOME Shell with many adjustments, not Purism's #Phosh.
