'Our Gambo' was OK on BBC Radio 2's Pick Of The Pops but that style of show really benefits from more conversational elements as evident when someone/anyone took over from him when he was on holiday. Plus Gambo freely admitted it was the sort of thing he could do in his sleep without much in the way of prior research. Arguably a waste of a talented presenter given his extensive capabilities. #POTP

Glenn Medeiros on Pick of the Pops, with "Nothing's gonna change my love for you".
As much as I don't like drippy ballads, this one has a certain innocent charm. Very pleasant in small doses.
Glenn sung this live on Top of the Pops, and then was ambushed by a cake.

Listening to some of the #PickOfThePops #PotP show on BBC Radio 2 and one of the charts is from 1985; they often seem to choose a year also featured on the BBC Four #TOTP repeats.
Great service, great sets, rent Granada. Sorry, wrong tune, it''s Julio Iglesias. #POTP
After the BBC asserts its right-wing credentials yet again by playing Layla as part of the 1982 #POTP Pick Of The Pops chart despite it being an even older record, it's time for (checks notes) Week Ending. Well it's Party Fears Two by The Associates which seems to get better as it gets older. So all is forgiven.
Gambo ought to have preserved his 'Classic Warning' for Sigue Sigue Sputnik 😀 #POTP
Lovely to hear Never Gonna Give You Up by Musical Youth. And not Rick Astley. #POTP
