On the #CloseToYouRememberingTheCarpenters documentary, #TonyPeluso stated that this was one of the first #powerBallads, if not the first, to have a #fuzzGuitar solo. "Goodbye to Love" was the first Carpenters hit written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis.
