I think I'll roll my #powerchair (which I use because of rheumatoid disease and chronic ankle problems after fracture caused because of #osteoporosis after #prednisone needed during RA flares) down to the city arts #festival today and have a #beer and buy some #art.

How long should a battery last?

Any other questions I haven't thought of?

Are there any written battery health maintenance guides?

How far does the battery need to go down before charging?

How often should it be charged if I only go 2 miles a day?

Is the battery pack supposed to reach to solid green when fully charged?

Does it affect battery life if I have to charge between each meal?

There are 14 hours between dinner and breakfast, should that be enough time to charge it?

I value the independence my #Jazzy #PowerChair gives me.

However, I am having issues with it staying charged. Have messaged the company I bought it from several times.

Their only reply is call and do a talky.

Except. I am DeafBlind. I see better than hear. My memory and comprehension of speech doesn't exist.

I gave up today, and emailed the company that manufactures them.

Does anyone have the ability and time to answer a few questions?

I did figure out how to make a fleece "bucket" for my power chair.

That back corner of my hips were never covered with the blanket laying over it, so they would get icy in the halls. Even with four layers on!

So I took a piece of fleece that was about a foot wide, an long enough to cover the seat and go up to the arms and over them. Have to adjust it occasionally. Keeps my hips warmer.

It is too much work to try to get it tucked in. And I need a table or chair nearby to help get all the layers organized.

Topic: #PowerChair blanket.

The building I live in is not warm. I keep a fleece blanket folded into a fourth its size over my legs.

However, sitting in my power chair, part of my hips gets cold everytime I go in the building.

The blanket misses that part about a hand size on each side.

And I wear flannel pants and heavy winter pants.

I can feel the ice hitting the lower hips.

I have tried a smaller long blanket underneath, and try to tuck it under my hips. Too much.

A community in County Tyrone got together in 2019 to upgrade the powerchair of a man living on his family's farm who wanted to be able to help out with the work. Since then various attachments have, presumably, been manufactured or adapted because as well as the more conventional trailers, he even has a snow plough!

argh! tripped over a powerchair wheel earlier and the move I made to save myself has pulled my shoulder. That's twice in two days. friggin kitchen refit has meant loads of stuff has had to be moved, including where BFF stores her chair when it's not in use. There's basically about 5ft between her chair and mine. Seeing as my body doesn't know what straight means, I'm left trying to go between them and not catch on anything, which fails sometimes. #Blind #PowerChair #Disability #Kitchen #Accessibility
