Only just found out there's a way to stop #Dell #OpenManage complaining about non-certified drives. Only needed some emergency space clearing, an upgrade to the OMSA version and then a PERC firmware upgrade to stop *that* complaining...

Welcome Taeyeon to my #homelab

She will serve as the new main #server in my network hosting #pfsense #homeassistant and #mastodon amongst others on a #proxmox backbone.

She's a slightly used #dell #poweredge #R340 with a 12 core #xeon E-2136, 64GB of RAM and about 8TB of #SSD storage. Despite being much smaller than the #R520 she's replacing she's way more performant at a fraction of the power usage.

I'm particularly proud of the #cablemanagement where each colour is its own #vlan

Installed new #SSDs to the #R620 this afternoon. Working on setting up #DockerSwarm next. 🤓

Holy cow. I had no idea that the newest models of #Dell #PowerEdge servers can have the BOSS (Boot optimized Storage System) card added in later. Damn. That changes things a little...in a very good way.

I re-flashed the PERC in my #Dell #PowerEdge #server to boost performance and remove the inability to pass-through drives directly to the OS without RAID using this FANTASTIC tool: https://fohdeesha.com/docs/perc.html ... Now I've installed #Proxmox directly on the ISDM (Mirrored dual #KingstonTech SD cards), built ZFS Kingston DC500 RAID1-style arrays connected to the now freed PERC controller, and am ready for the ultimate hypervisor experience, complete with replication and clustering!

MMMmmm... Hello #fediverse! I am looking for a cable for a RAID Controller Card - H710 (PowerEdgeT740) That will split that SAS connection into 4 additional connectors for the drives. I have this one and I need another one. There is usually a DPN on them but this is all the labeling it has. If you know what I am talking about, please let me know where to find one!!!
