The #netgear #powerline 1000 adapters which are very close to each-other on the opposide sides of the same wall (best real-world scenario), can barely do 200mbps, when connected directly to the MoCA adapter I can saturate the full gigabit connection.

And they said it could do 1000mbps. Bullshit marketing as usual.

My #Samsung A7 #tablet never did this before. Look at the navigation bar: Back has slid almost¹ to center, Home to right, and Recent off-screen. Hitting the buttons where they were (or the spaces they should have been) did nothing. Couldn't get out of #TotalCommander, couldn't get to the home screen. Had to hold down the power button to turn off the tablet. It was fine on reboot.

BTW, the colored lines top and bottom are from #PowerLine, which shows status bars in whatever color and position you want. Yellow shows very strong wifi, green about 70% battery, blue that internal storage has little free space, purple that external storage has loads.

I think the worst part is those long file paths. If it was intelligent enough to abbreviate long paths in similar fashion to how #OhMyPosh / #PowerLine display the current working directory in the prompt, then it would be much more readable.

Didn't really occur to me that my aging #powerline network might be really slow but I'm running a full #Manjaro update over wifi in the room where the router is and it's downloaded 2.4GB in a couple of minutes.

@james There is a standard for ethernet over powerline. It's called #Powerline or #HomePlug #AV2. Also, the reason they use data-over-powerline is that it removes one level of complexity. The devices no longer need a #wifi adapter to work. For instance, in the #US some cable routers (#COAX into the home, then #ethernet to the wifi #adapter) also provide that ethernet over #Powerline.

If the wifi adapter dies or breaks, the internet is still available to #Powerline devices.
