In episode 11 of our Off The Beaten Track series we explore Panoche Road, one of the few connectors between the California Central Coast and the California Central Valley. To be precise, we explore the eastern 12 miles of Panoche Road, which just so happens to be a dirt road (big surprise!) GPX track and interactive 3D map linked in video description.

This day did not go as planned. The remaining Goodyear Wrangler tires are coming off, getting some Yokohama tires. The Goodyears were originally off the red Power Wagon which is only a 2017, these tires have less than 20K miles. They’ve been sat in the sun, but still not very impressed, that’s 2 that have failed in the same way, just completely disintegrated. Good job I was not on the freeway.

We return to Williams Hill and explore the Bureau of Land Management Route W15 in Lockwood California! I had spotted route W15 on maps and saw that it is technically part of the Williams Hill BLM area, but that it is not accessible from the main area without a big detour. So now my curiosity was piqued! What is this track, and is it worth visiting? We set off to find out!
