This week the CPAT team started a new project at Powis Castle.

One of the most significant castles in Wales, Powis dates from the 13th century. It has been in the Herbert family since the 1500s.

Our project is looking for the remains of a Dutch-style water garden, built around 1705 and abandoned a century later.

Supported by the National Trust and Council for British Archaeology.

Personally I love that it was a theatre company doing a site visit ahead of a musical about Owain that raised the alarm that the site was overgrown and neglected. Culture and heritage folks, man :blobcathearthug:
