The latest Home Affairs Ministry Instructions on post PPKM situation details public activity conditions which are a little more relaxed compared to PPKM level 1.
Health Minister Budi Sadikin said people are encouraged to test if they're symptomatic or a close contact but a positive test result will not lead to a black status on the PeduliLindungi app and they are not precluded from public activities, only expected to wear a mask.
Local governments, however, are still required to maintain the local Covid-19 Task Force, work with the central authorities to tightly monitor and manage Covid-19 infections, and report daily Covid-19 figures to the relevant Ministries and BNPB.
They are also still required to budget for Covid-19 mitigation activities and measures as required by the law.
The instructions do not provide details on managing retail activities and opening hours which imply that these are no longer limited. Workplace operational arrangements have been returned fully to the management of each place of employment.

President Jokowi: PPKM ends today. Masking order remains in place in crowded areas and indoors.
President Jokowi announced the end of
PPKM as of today, after 10 months of studies. Indonesia's Covid-19 numbers have fallen below the WHO thresholds which allows the government to remove all mobility and crowd restrictions. Indonesia is also one of four G20 countries that managed to evade what is considered a pandemic wave in 2022, the President said.
Masking remains required in crowded areas and indoor places. Covid-19 Task Force will remain active for the time being and all of the Covid related aid and subsidies will still be provided to those who need them.
Covid Emergency Hospital Wisma Atlet Kemayoran will be closed as of 31 December 2022 but one tower will remain open to anticipate any potential surge or outbreak, according to BNPB Chief Lt. Gen. Suharyanto.

President Jokowi hinted that the PPKM or mobility restrictions may go away at the end of this year.
"Our daily cases stand at 1,200, and maybe at the end of the year we will declare an end to our PSBB, PPKM”,
President Jokowi said at the 2023 Indonesian Economic Outlook conference, today.
Covid-19 has not disappeared but the government seems ready to leave the pandemic behind and return to normalcy based on the declining figures over the past two months.
According to the Indonesian Health Ministry, since the first local case of Covid-19 was officially announced in March 2020, we’ve had 6.7 million cases, 160,000+ deaths, 174.6 million fully vaccinated, and 68 million boosted.
Our weekly case numbers have dropped from just under 30,000 two Sundays ago to 10,000 last Sunday while deaths dropped from 302 to 174 during the same period.
These are not the lowest this year by far but the government seems to consider them manageable and local pharmaceutical company BioFarma has committed to producing enough vaccines for next year.
Most of the country have been on PPKM level 1, the lowest level with mandatory check ins and optional masking outdoors, but those requirements haven't been fully observed for some time even in the capital city.
While an official announcement remains to be seen, it's almost a foregone conclusion that all pandemic restrictions will be removed come January 2023 given the President's statement earlier today.
