Spent the last ~week debugging and trying to understand MTU issues with WireGuard on DS-Lite and PPPoE connections with ICMP "black holes", MSS clamping and nftables. Quite the ride! Think I managed to sort of understand things now...

Are there any #Ubiquiti users who made #IPv6 over #PPPoE with #DHCPv6 work (prefix delegation)? I have spent months debugging it while feeding a support ticket that goes nowhere. I can see packets that advertise the network prefix allocated by the ISP but not replies to router solicitations later. In effect, I never end up with an IPv6 on the router (#UDMPro).

Obviously, the ISP's #Huawei router just works...

Did I ever mention my love-hate relationship with Ubiquiti?!

I know more about networking than I did at the beginning of the weekend so that’s a plus. Time will tell if everything truly is working well but so far so good.

Ich habe jetzt testweise den Kernel mit der Option PPPOE_TERM_UNKNOWN_SESSIONS gebaut. Dies scheint in der Tat das DSL reconnect Problem am #NetAachen Anschluss zu lösen.

Folgende Kernel Meldung wird ausgegeben, wenn der #OpenBSD Kernel PPP Daemon eine existierende Sitzung erkennt und diese terminiert:

#pppoe (data): input for unknown session 0x65d, sending PADT

Eine Möglichkeit dieses Verhalten ohne Bauen des Kernels zu erzielen habe ich leider noch nicht gefunden.
