As an enthusiast for , I love my and other products. But it's important to acknowledge the conditions under which some parts were manufactures: with forced labor from political prisoners in the GDR.

I wasn't aware of this until reading this article (in German) tagesschau.de/investigativ/mdr

Yes, this is probably not the only case where this happened, but it's important to not forget the history.

Zum zwei (unfreiwillige) High-Key-Aufnahmen die ich immer mal auskippen wollte. Hochhäuser Grunaer Straße; mit LTL und electric 1.8/50 … Ich glaube in der LTL war der Belichtungsmesser kaputt und meine Pimaldaumen-Einstellung total daneben. Happy Accident irgendwie, imho

Friends - once Fomapan always

My another beauty SLR camera - Practica MTL-50 - made in East Germany. You always regognize Practica MTL - “the slap” from the mirror is legendary. Fully manual, battery is needed for mettering only.

Analog Pixels 20

Image originally shot on Ilford XP2 400 film with a Praktica MTL 5B camera and an Industar 50mm/3.5 lens. The negative was scanned and then 2 copies were printed with an inkjet printer. I then cut one of the copies into strips and wove them into the other copy to produce the final image.

Začalo to dotazem od syna, pokračovalo nákupním košíkem na e-shopu Fomy Bohemia (stále žije a dodává takřka okamžitě), následovalo vylovení 35mm SLR Canon AE-1 a Practica MTL-50 ze skříně. Vůně koženky, chlad hliníku, cvakání clonového kroužku, intenzivní zvuk zrcadla.
A dál? Najít tank Jobo 1510 někde ve sklepě a z latentních obrazů dostat za pomoci chemie něco reálného na papíře. Dříve rutina, po 20 letech zážitek…. Uvidíme…

Found a lab envelope containing pictures from 2010 but were developed January 2011. Taken with the Praktica MTL5 camera (I don't even remember what film, there are no negs) One of the shots were taken in Ystrad Mynach College, S Block I would imagine. Actual photo looks a little less vibrant and soft focus (had to use the phone scanner as I no longer have a flatbed) I totally don't remember taking this picture, but what a blast from the past!!

Took these beauties for a walk yesterday. Unfortunately, the metering on the seems off, so did a sort of overcast-cloudy around 8 or 11 sort of thing. It's a test roll anyway, half ruined trying to load it.

I'll be developing the Texas Leica film later, my test roll was a success (considering).
