Fantastic archaeological find!
"An exeptionally beautiful moose shaped artefact found in Kuusamo East Finland in May 2023"
These axe-shaped objects that end in an animal head (usually moose or bear) are rare, but part of Neolithic traditions in Finland. A few have been found in Eastern Sweden as well (probably imports/trade).

The last of my 1969 slides of rock art from the Tassili I just finished digitizing. These from the later periods. The first two from the Bovidian/Pastoral period (4,500 to 4,000 BCE) marked by the arrival of domesticated cattle into the Sahara and "the gradual shift to mobile pastoralism." 3rd slide from the latest period defined by the appearance of camels and Libyco-Berber writing 1000 BCE and onward.

More slides of rock art from the Tassili I shot in 1969. The round headed figures are from the earliest period, 6,000 to 4,000 B.C. In the next image I can only guess that what is going on is probably pretty brutal. The large figure is known as the Black Lady of Sefar. Somehow I managed to chop the head off. The final picture shows a typical site where the art is found, though not in this picture.

Rock paintings, Tassili Algeria, photos I took 1969. "The Archers (!) of Tin Abotek", 1.8 meters high, Early Bovidian/Pastoral Period (4,500 to 4,000 BCE, marked by arrival of cattle). One of the cattle and two males figures, possibly herders, with an animal, presumably a cow

More slides just digitized, from a trip to the Tassili in 1969. Taken with a Russian Zenit camera. 15 days trekking in a lunar landscape. Rock art recording climate changes, animal migrations and evolution of human life on the edge of the Sahara from 6000 BC to beginning of the present era. These from the Round Head Period, ie before the Bovidian/Pastoral period, created before 1000 BC.
