I like the idea of including "paper" and "thread" on tags to distinguish between them.

Also, in my understanding preprints include a short of prior research, thus, the #preprintResearchPaper it seems to me an unnecessary long tag.

Instead, I would go for #PreprintPaper and #PreprintThread for unpublished work/share ideas and #ResearchPaper and #ResearchThread for published ones

Yeah, I think a combo would probably be best, but if I had to pick just one to search threads in I'd go for either #newResearchPaper or #preprintResearchPaper. Or just #ResearchPaper. Mostly because I think if you omit the Research part you may get different works on the feed and that might not be helpful 🤔
