Off the wall question, has anyone ever encountered a senator or representative who has mentioned #AdrenalInsufficiency in any context? Looking for a political #Ally for AI research funding who can help us make inroads with #NIH funders at #NIDDK where #Diabetes is the primary focus. AI is an #Endocrine problem and should be funded through NIDDK but hasn't been a focus primarily due to a lack of #Prevalence studies in my opinion.

@lauren Thought I've had for a while, based on some comments from FB on "prevalence" as a measure of how often a given item is presented to members' streams:

There should be a power-law relation to number of items and prevalence of those items. E.g., many w/ low prevalence, few with high.
Human moderation hits hard limits of a few hundred items reviewed per day, based on various stats I've seen and common sense. NYT's review desk hits about 700--800/person-day. Even at only 10s/item, the peak would be < 3,000 items/day, and I sincerely believe that would be unsustainable.
Social media platforms could commit to no prevalence above some threshold without a human review. Pick a number and stick to it: 100, 1,000, 10,000, whatevs.

At that point, the choice becomes budgeting moderators vs. prevalence. Items hitting that threshold would be held from further distribution.

I've not heard of a proposal along these lines, I'd be surprised if someone hasn't come up with a similar proposal.
