We need to put a #PriceOnCarbon pollution!

@GreenFire the political shift to accomplish a #PriceOnCarbon is going to require a shift to #eBikes in local transport policy of major cities/metros to make #transit work and undercut the oil/auto/hwy/finance money. Needs #STARvoting and/or #ApprovalVoting at city & state level to get majority rule instead of splitting progressives. We're letting the media pick the mayor, governor, etc because we don't have 1 pre-selected favorite that plurality/rank choice require.

The clear evidence the people that are still recalcitrant to accept climate science probably never will, it is now even more incumbent upon those of us who do to transition entirely off of fossil fuel burning just as fast as we each possibly can in order to provide the examples that will move more to follow us.

The concept of #CarbonShadow should be followed though if for example one considers flying to D.C. in order to lobby for a #PriceOnCarbon or something like that.

I spent over a decade working towards getting a #PriceOnCarbon passed with citizensclimatelobby.org so of course I support that, but I would support ending exports of our fossil fuels too after the war in #Ukraine is over since I so much want to #KeepItInTheGround

@MarkAmodeiNV2, we need permitting reform fast to improve electrical grids allowing renewable energy project completion. Then, put a #PriceOnCarbon to phase out old fossil fuel plants to improve our # Climate!

We definitely need to put a #PriceOnCarbon. Helicopters burn gallons per mile instead of miles per gallon. It's disgusting!

The price of releasing planet-heating carbon into the atmosphere rose above 100 euros in the European Union for the first time this week.

I long worked trying to get the USA to implement a #PriceOnCarbon. We got pretty close until Americans chose to put a climate science denier in the White House. Hopefully we can soon if we can get Republicans out of power. https://ember-climate.org/data/data-tools/carbon-price-viewer/

One of our CCL volunteers in Maine worked with faith leaders to get this excellent op-ed published to support a #PriceOnCarbon with cash back to households:

"While we recognize that an array of solutions are necessary, we agree with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which encourages making amends for industrial carbon pollution with carbon pricing as a 'necessary condition' for stabilizing the planet’s climate.

"...when the revenue from the price on carbon pollution is returned equally, low- and middle-income households enjoy a net-benefit since they carry a smaller carbon footprint than their wealthier households."

I bet that there are a lot of climate activists that are not aware that Senator Whitehouse's #PriceOnCarbon got implemented in the EPA's new methane rules.

I hope that the word gets out so that some positive news can help motivate more people to act by giving them more hope.
