What attracted me to these today (snapped just now) is the burst of colour, but up close I was captivated by the veins in those petals! Such detail.
Also the hair-like filaments, in such abundance!

It is commonly known as the oil-seed camellia or tea oil camellia.
I spotted this handsome tree driving through suburban #Oakleigh, in #Melbourne’s inner east recently.
It is adorned with a multitude of stunning flowers, as can be observed on pic 4.
