Sorry to hear that. If there's a reason you need the brand name rather than the generic, maybe the doctor can apply for a Prior Authorization exception? Some insurance plans will cover for certain circumstances, e.g. side effects from generic but not brand name, etc.
Unfortunately, other times it means you have to grin and bear it until the next time you can change your insurance plan.
At least, that's the way it is in the American system.
