Faint outline of the former execution chamber on the outside wall of A Wing at Gloucester Prison. It was a 2-storey wooden structure, with a door leading into the condemned cell on the 1st floor. The first prisoner hanged there was Oswald Gilbert Smith, on 26 Nov 1912. He had murdered his wife. #Gloucester #PrisonHistory
