For a very long time I was a proponent of #NewPipe, since I got a brief taste of it on my old phone. Though now on my new phone, I am not satisfied with my experience. For the couple of links that were shared into the app, they stopped playing quickly.

Luckily while exploring the new section on #FDroid, #Clipious (https://github.com/lamarios/clipious) caught my eye. Clipious is an Android client application for #invidious. This is a perfect fit with my daily desktop use using #PrivacyRedirect to do the same.

Yo uso la extensión #PrivacyRedirect o #LibRedirect
en el navegador del ordenador... y en el móvil uso

automáticamente me convierte los links a alternativas privadas y libres y así luego puedo yo compartirlas más seguras a la gente... #NewPipe además sabe abrir esos enlaces sin problema.

@jeffcliff Those links don’t work for me. #PrivacyRedirect sent me to a #Bibliogram instance, but Bibliogram has been discontinued. So I had to disable bibliogram. IG just shoots blanks when visited directly, even after going the javascript allowance chase.

#farside needs to get more attention
It's an #OpenSource , #PrivacyRedirect for alternative frontends like #nitter , #teddit , #Invidious , etc.
It's like LibRedirect, but for everyone who clicks on the link.

One of the drawbacks that is still holding me back from using it all the time is that it does not create embedded URL preview. While if you link directly to nitter or teddit instance, embed works fine.

Es gibt bspw. für Firefox das Addon #PrivacyRedirect , das yt-Links zu #invidious , T witter zu #Nitter usw. umleitet

@DerEmil @theoldpossum @askfedi_de Ja, es gibt so einige Alternativen, für direkte Links kannst Du eine #Invidious -Instanz nutzen, da gibt es einige z.B. yewtu.be . Die nutze ich persönlich inzwischen nicht mehr bevorzugt, weil da Downloads deaktiviert sind. Aber die hat den kürzesten Namen... mehr gibt es hier: https://redirect.invidious.io/

Viele haben aber auch das Addon #PrivacyRedirect , das Links von Youtube, Twitter usw. umleitet auf die trackingsfreien Alternativfrontends

@otherlucy76 yewtu.be war länger auch meine bevorzugte #Individious -Instanz Allerdings ist da nun keine Download-Option mehr, so dass ich nun meist andere nutze: https://redirect.invidious.io/
Über #PrivacyRedirect kann auch eine bevorzugte eingestellt werden oder random und unter dem Video kann die Instanz gewechselt werden.
Außerdem gibts ja noch #Newpipe (für #Android in #FDroid) und #Freetube als Desktopanwendung.
alles auch mit Downloadmöglichkeit als mp3 mp4 usw.@strght @RuthInkognito @janboehm

@cnx @testman #Farside is a good well-intentioned idea, but if it’s going to be so autonomous as to randomly select the front-end instance then it really needs to filter out #Cloudflare instances. E.g. some of the #scribe instances risk subjecting users to Cloudflare. The #privacyRedirect plugin gives users control, although it needs more maintenance from the user. /cc @alcinnz
