Thank God for homeschooling and private, Christian schools. Those are our only hope for educating, not indoctrinating the next generation of good Christian leaders.

My severely dyslexic daughter was kicked out of a private school due to her dyslexia, after 5 years there.

They were far more discreet and political than this school. They would keep her but not educate her or teach her to read. Too dyslexic to bother with.

Thankfully we were already applying to private dyslexia schools. Within months at her new school she realized she actually was capable and able to learn. Reading will never be easy but she will get there.

Multiple crunchy schools like the one in this article rejected her due to her dyslexia, though none were quite as pricy.

To counter one incorrect thing in this article: learning disabilities rarely appear. They are genetic, and kids are born with it. They go unaddressed because there is no universal screening performed, though testing exists.

#PublicSchool has different meanings in different English-speaking communities. In the US (and in #MedinatAmerica), it has aspects of meanings 2, 3, 4, and 5: public school is funded by the state (i.e. taxpayers), in service to all people of the school's community, accessible to and shared by all members of the community. In contrast, #privateSchool is funded entirely by private donations and students' tuition fees.

If you start mandating what #curriculum #homeschool families can teach, then you're compelled to analyze and mandate what is taught in the #PrivateSchool sector. #SchoolChoice advocates and the #ReligiousRight won't let that happen.
