I have a lot on my plate right now. I have less than 3 months to come up with $3200 to get my two teeth fixed (at 216 so far). I also have a #NonVerbal, #probablyautistic preschooler with so many febrile seizures we've had to travel 200+ miles to a children's hospital twice in the last month. We have another in just over a week, so early it will require a hotel room. Then another nearly as far for his screening/diagnosis. All of these trips take so long we have to eat out.

My nibbling* and I were spending the day outside. They were sitting on a fence silently looking out binoulars. When I casually mentioned their current special interest they climbed down from the fence, snuggled into the crook of my arm, and still looking through the binos started Info-Dumping about their interest.

It was a wonderful day

I've been realizing over the past few weeks that I've learned so much masking over the years that I often wear the wrong one when something important is going on.

Not everyone I interact with knows I have post-COVID shit going on (and maybe that's good). It's super difficult to peel those layers of mask off to really talk about what's happening in my brain and body.

I'm "self-diagnosed" because I should have been diagnosed 40 years ago and now I'm ate up with so much of the DSM-VK that my shrink only discusses diagnoses in terms of probabilities and won't commit to any diagnosis that she can't immediately treat.

There are good reasons there's no #ProbablyAutistic hashtag.

It provides some carrion comfort to be able to look back at my life in context, but it's a lot like locking the barn door after all the horses have burned down.

One of my kids sent me this and wow. I recognise ALL of this. She has managed to put into words exactly how I feel and experience life, in a way I couldn't quite articulate.

My Mum died last night due to secondary breast cancer. Now having to navigate my grieving process as a #ProbablyAutistic adult whilst also helping my 2 #ProbablyAutistic boys navigate their grief. Outsiders would think we are fine or unaffected as they can't read all the signs that we are massively off balance. One boy playing computer games, other boy watching his tablet surrounded by squishy teddies and making sure he's within touching distance of me so he can stroke my leg or arm
