Good & bad news in the #NorthWest:

Good: optimism about the future of #Barrow is in full effect, with #BAE's full order book offering the town 30yrs of work building submarines.... and as you can see their #productivity is on the way up (while they still hope to attract more #workers to the 'longest cul-de-sac in the country).

Bad: unlike Barrow, the rest of the North West is seeing further declines in productivity. For anyone hoping to move away from the #defence, this is not good news.

Alright... day 3 of Wellbutrin, and of new job.

I think maybe the Wellbutrin is starting to do its thing. I've found myself just... spontaneously getting my work notes organized, and reading over them to make sure I know what's in them. I'm not having to struggle to force myself to read up on the language and framework they use here at this job. Things are just... going well.

Part of that is certainly just new job energy. But I've been me for a long time, and I don't remember the last time I was this organized and focused on getting set up for success.

I was vaguely nervous, as many people are, that the pills might alter me fundamentally. But so far, I don't see any sign of /that/. They're just making me better at being ME, which is what I wanted.

Cautiously optimistic. Can't wait to see what comes next.

If we accept the Bank of England's logic (as we are told we've reached the likely peak of #interestrates rises) that a squeeze was needed due to inflationary tendencies in the economy, the Q. is what does such pressure appear at such anaemic rates of growth?

Two answers, either:

the diagnosis is wrong - inflation is not being caused by wage demands, or..

The UK's #productivity problem is now so great that there is no spare capacity for non-inflationary growth...

(or both, of course!)
