Love discovering new locations in my city, that would make great backdrops for product photo-shoots

This morning we decided to walk up The News Steps, from Market Street to St Giles’ Street.

As the light was at the right angle, and with so few people about, I got Bri to spin around so I could take a quick phone snap of him wearing a Proud Scot: Bear Pride tee.

There's this artist I know who is a wizard with metal. He builds intricate #puzzleboxes for his friends on their birthdays. This one was for a friend on his 21st. The bolt on top is a decoy! To break the buffalotrace bottle out and get at that sweet #bourbon, you need an allen wrench... from the bottom. Sneaky! And, this is one of his simpler contraptions...
I am in awe of how his mind works.
Anyway, it was an excuse to do some fancy #productphotography lighting in the studio for his portfolio.

Just did my first product shoot for someone other than myself. Hoping the client likes my photos after I edit them.

Lighting was a challenge, but I think I got the shots I need. I did include a reshoot in the job because it’s my first one and I need to make sure the client loves the photos.

I’ll post them after final approval.

light boxes

some years ago i bought a light box to photograph transparent gems & crystals on

it did not go well because it turned out to be fluorescent & all kind of weird bands appear in the photos

i think i need instructions on how to make my own light box that's a box with a light on it that the stone can sit on

any good links or suggestions i'm all ears
