Employing the service of a professional isn't just good practice, it's also a smart way to manage risks and ensure proper distribution of responsibilities. , , , , .

Really interesting read for those of that are professional advice-givers. Throwing my profession under the bus, there are some hard truths here.

I'm looking forward to reading the book!

Adding more status meetings to a late project will make it even later.

More on the 'outdoor relief' for the class... after earlier this week the Govt. dropped limitations on budget allocations to (not the medical sort), it now emerges that the spent over £80m on last year - there's no money for a wage rise for , but there's plenty to fund the big firms offering 'advice' on how to deal with the (in itself a crisis brought about by defunding!)

Interestingly, and relatively quietly, a shift in the UK's model of is taking place;

firms interest in & uptake of ownership is on the rise;

while not without its problems its a move away from the -as-cost model (albeit concentrated for now in )

A cynic might see this as a way fro to cash out in a virtue signally way, but equally looking at Julian Richer as an example, this may also be a real shit (hopefully)!

Being a field engineer/customer engineer/pro services/solutions architect/etc. (seems like this role has a lot of names) at my old job I felt like our team wasn't respected (oh you're just consultants, what do you know?) Where I work now, this team is actually respected for our knowledge and I really appreciate that.
