Due to health reasons I am not really able to drink much #alcohol these days. So I decided to use my quota wisely and had a celebratory gin and tonic at the weekend to wish #progozhin and his team all the best in hell.

I put the odds #Progozhin faked his own death at 50%. Understanding why he stopped, or even his personality, would make a big difference in my estimate. He must have figured Putin would have him killed. And presumably stopped because he considered the risk of continuing to be greater than the risk of stopping. So was it because he thought the chance of success was too low, because the consequences of failure were much worse than death, or because the consequences of *success* were too high?

We don't know the terms of the deal he made. We know he talked to Lukashenko, not Putin. Did Lukashenko offer to help him fake his death? Or did he just give assurances strong enough to sway Prigozhin. If so, obviously Progozhin shouldn't have trusted those assurances.
