#NowPlaying: #KingCrimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (an Observation by King Crimson)
1989 UK #CD remaster.
Or rather: I just finished playing this, I play so much now that I am studying again. This album starts off loud and obnoxious - love the first track - but gets very improv later on, and at some point I thought my speakers weren't working anymore. There's a lot to unpack in this album and certainly deserves more listens.

Tomorrow is a great day.
Tomorrow, we will release #NeoFinder 8.5!
We are very proud and happy with the new version, and our very unofficial song for the release is "The Second Brightest Star" by the British ProgRock band Big Big Train:
https://bigbigtrain.bandcamp.com/track/the-second-brightest-star
We recently had the pleasure of seeing the band live in a concert, and it was very nice!

#NowPlaying: #Yes - Yessongs
1987 #CD reissue.
Apparently the audio quality is supposed to be horrible on this live album, but it seems to be much better on the CD version than the vinyl version I have. What is there to say about this album? Good band, great live, and the best material from their best period. Great listen!

On a bit of a downer today, so lifting the spirits by #NowSpinning ‘Pink Floyds’ ‘The Wall’. 🤷🏻♂️🤪
Anyway, the three consecutive tracks of ‘Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)’, ‘Mother’ and ‘Goodbye Blue Sky’ are particular favourites.

#NowSpinning the wonderful ‘Sunburst Finish’, released in ‘76 by Be-Bop Deluxe. I adore ‘Crystal Gazing’ - majestic and haunting. ♥️

In our by-the-side blog called "Something for the Weekend", our own Andy Read compiled the top 5 albums of 2023 (so far) of all our reviewers. Quite a diverse list of lists!

"Six feet underground
We move backwards now
At the speed of sound
We are nowhere now
Too much time to kill
Too much wasted air
Too much everything
There's no need to think
Here above the clouds
I am free of all the crowds
And I float above the stars
And I feel the rush of love
Looking down at Earth
It is luminous, observe
We had every chance
But we never learn
We just make it worse
What we don't deserve
The principle of love
Has no meaning here
'Cause if you don't live here
Better get out while you can
Here above the clouds
I am free of all the crowds
And I float above the stars
And I feel the rush of love
Looking down at Earth
It is luminous, observe
Here above the clouds
I am free of all the crowds
And I float above the stars
And I feel the rush of love
Looking down at Earth
It is luminous, observe
Six feet underground
We move backwards now
At the speed of sound
We are nowhere now"

Listening to an old favourite. #Quatermass. 1970 #HardRock #ProgRock album. John Gustafson and Mick Underwood were ex-Merseybeats and went on to work with Ian Gillan. Keyboards player J. Peter Robinson had a successful film score career.

New #review today: "What #StealingTheFire has on offer here is a powerful slab of excellent #NeoProgressive, influenced perhaps by the classic British prog school, bands like #Camel, Trick-era #Genesis, #Solstice, classic #Marillion, and a touch of #Yes, with a powerful keyboard presence throughout." #ExposeOnline #ProgRock http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/stealing-the-fire-a-raven-for-a-dove-3.html

#NowPlaying: #Yes - Relayer
2003 European reissue.
My absolute favourite album by Yes, Gates Of Delirium is a brilliant track that doesn't overstay its welcome despite its 23 minute length. I love the "battle sequence" in the middle: it's epic. Maybe I like it so much because the album is very dense and up-tempo, I tend to lose attention if there's a lot of slow segments but this album keeps you in for the ride all the way through.
