For those of you into #ebooks, for some reason I only now discovered #StandardEbooks. It's a small selection of #PublicDomain #DRM-free ebooks.

They take texts from #ProjectGutenberg and properly typeset them and correct OCR and editing errors. They look very nice on your favorite eReader.

If you're using an Apple device, select the "Advanced epub" file and open in the Books app.

If you're using a Kindle, choose "azw3", but don't use "Send to Kindle". (See their FAQ.)

PG is where most of the kindle resellers get the public domain stuff they're selling, so worth checking there first

50 days of text [day 1]: experimenting with NLP & js using jspos to process and tag word types from two different Project Gutenberg sourced texts (one about homeland security and one rly old self-help book). From the tags I made an ad-lib style template sentence to pull different word types from the sources at random. Everytime I run the node server I get a randomized version of the sentence in console. Next I want to optimize the formatting issues and make the grammar more intricate before deploying as a Matodon bot. #jspos #NLP #javaScript #ProjectGutenberg #nodejs
