In this case, I opened a loop that I wanted to close at the very end anyway, but which happens long before the first chapter.
Do you write prologues? If so, what do you think should be the difference with the first chapter?
Is the first chapter still relevant to pique the reader's interest, or does the prologue take over this task?

I think the question is seeking "best practices," but it's sort of unanswerable. It depends on #audience and #writing goals. #Story has form and structure, but beyond that, whether you use a #prologue or dual POVs or distasteful language depends on everything from the style of your genre to whether you intend to #query.
Sometimes I feel the question should conclude "...and still find fame and respect?" What do you seek?
