Something got caught on the propeller.
We stopped. I switched off the engine, opened the engine bay, unscrewed the weedhatch, and then stuck my arm through the rectangular opening, into the murky water up to my bicep, to feel for debris around the propeller and driveshaft.
It was a heavy plastic bag.
Doing this, I always think of the vets in All Creatures Great & Small, with their arm up some cow. #eww!

In 2017, #NOAA and the #AirForceReserve’s #HurricaneHunters stopped by #Orlando, #Florida at #OrlandoExecutiveAirport #ORL. This #photo is a nose-on view of their WC-130J #airplane that flies inside #hurricanes.
Only #propeller-drive #aircraft can operate inside a #storm that severe, so this modification of a cargo #plane serves the role. A special #meteorological #radar is installed in a pod under the starboard wing; the #SteppedFrequencyMicrowaveRadiometer #SFMR, allows the plane to measure surface #wind speeds by using radar on the surface of the #waves.
