My kid's #Robotics team captained the winning alliance at the #FRC Colorado regional yesterday and is headed to the championships in Houston next month! After the #SchoolShooting this week they needed this win.

The support shown to them by everyone at the tournament was phenomenal. The hardest though, were the school(S) that stopped by to commiserate and share their grief because they had been through. the.same. thing. Y'all. #ProtectKidsNotGuns #MomsDemandAction #StudentsDemandAction

The psychologist she referred us to said we've laid a solid foundation on which to build further communication skills. She said we're "doing everything right at home to help keep him mentally healthy."

Yesterday I was so proud of my kid and his classmates for marching to the capital to demand they #ProtectKidsNotGuns in the name of the of his slain classmate that I told y'all. Back on February 13th I yelled and screamed because a student at my son's high school was randomly shot in the head. Today he died and I just feel broken. I have an hour and a half to pick myself up and dust myself off so I can hold my babies together while they grief. But y'all when are we going to #protectkidsnotguns ?

Monday, a student was randomly shot in the head by a student in front of other students.

Tuesday, the school was closed to allow time to attempt to process the whole thing.

At almost midnight last night (way too late to have a discussion with my kid to gauge his mental health), we received an email from the principal alerting us that a student brought a #Gun to #School yesterday.

I am terrified about what today will bring.

Student non-contact day for my oldest tomorrow. A fancy way of saying school is canceled tomorrow so students and staff can take advantage of necessary mental health supports. The shooting this afternoon was a drive-by and lots of kids saw it all happen. The kid is just 16 years old and was shot in the head.
