I know some of y'all have opinions.

Lemme hear them. Proton Mail? Yeay, meh? or nah?

Cela fait 1 semaine, UNE semaine, que j’ai envoyé un ticket au service client de #protonMail et toujours rien. Nada. Aucune réponse.

Service relancé via #Reddit, avec succès, mais … toujours rien.
La question était pourtant très simple, mais comme il s'agit d'argent qui dort sur leur compte sans que je ne puisse en tirer substance, cela doit les embêter j'imagine.
Bref vivement que j'exclue définitivement de mon environnement numérique #ProtonMail et toute sa clique.

Hey @protonmail , loved the most recent Community Update. The point about Google tracking by being logged into Gmail is enough to get me to look again at automatic forwarding from Gmail.

However, those emails end up right in my primary proton inbox. I'd much rather they end up in a dedicated email alias, so they are separated out in Thunderbird automatically.

Is there any way to configure forwarding from Gmail to go to a particular inbox, or even a particular folder?

The #ProtonMail web client is surprisingly smooth and well built. If I wasn't already married to my own domain and private hosting I'd likely go there for my email needs.

And I have a #ProtonMail account for special purposes with a "bit more" security concerns like banking for example.

What hosted mail service do you use for your business?

I host my own mail in my personal life, but my business email is hosted.

Gandi is now charging for their hosted mail, and I don't want to use Google.

I'm looking at Fastmail and Protonmail. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either for business, or has another recommendation?

Forgot to mention this the day it happened, but just remembered it: Successfully used #Lookout for #Android to pull text from a screenshot I took on my computer so I could obtain the password for my #ProtonMail bridge setup so I could have automatic #encryption for my email in #Thunderbird I had tried that #OCR add-on for #NVDA but it didn't read the text correctly but Lookout did. Lookout still can be iffy, and I could have used #BixbyVision to try and get it, but once I got it, that's all I needed.

@brian I haven't tried Zoho; I'll check it out.

So far I've checked out #ProtonMail (kinda pricey for what I need) and #Skiff (much better pricing and features for me).

So, anyone have any thoughts on #ProtonMail and #ProtonVPN Looking at a new mail provider for my domain and a VPN. I've heard rumors they aren't as private as they claim, but I have no proof and want to be sure before I plunk down the cash for a subscription

I don't like to beat up on #protonmail, I'm a long time user of the service .. but their customer service just doesn't cut it.

Yes, they may respond in a timely manner but the crux of their response is normally 'we can't provide a timescale for this'.

I reported an issue in Oct 2022 where I was able to bypass the app lock on the Android app. I got a response confirming that they can replicate the issue but "can't give a timescale for a fix"

Followed up last week - same response!

@randstreifen Not *very* happy with #ProtonMail only because they do not have a #desktop app. I do not like #webmail too much.
They have, as part of the single "Unlimited" bundle ($10/month), a "Bridge" for IMAP/SMTP which would be nice, running as a local server decrypting and encrypting messages for Thunderbird or others. :ChicoRi: #GPLv3 (https://github.com/ProtonMail/proton-bridge).
We should be able to pay only for this. I don't need the whole tied package. :ChicoTristo:

Decided to try #ProtonMail. All my emails from #gmail did not fit into a free proton account )) Guess I can leave without 20+ years of email history. Can't even remember when I needed to find some email from more than a year ago.

I’ve been trialing both @Tutanota and @protonmail as a replacement for #Google and #iCloud mail and calendar and I am torn:

#ProtonMail has an excellent (but less secure than Tutanota) bridge app that integrates Proton Mail directly into my desktop mail client, but their #iPad app is not to my liking & it doesn’t have a native #Linux client.

#Tutanota has a superior iPad app IMO, but their desktop app PALES in comparison to #Thunderbird with the Proton Bridge.
