Wanted to share something good…

My daughter’s back in school, which means I’m back in school (homework). She’s learning algebra. I took it in the 6th grade with 7th/8th graders. But I forgot most of it.

She was crying when we sat down. She didn’t understand any of it. First I had to learn it, then try to explain it differently. By the time we finished, she was smiling and racing through the problems. That felt really good.

This was the beginning of our son’s journey back to independence and living his own life. A year ago, I was still “on call” as his caregiver for chronic illness. All the things I’ve done in the past year are because my son has largely taken control over his own care. He even learned to drive. He first became ill at the age of 12, 8 years ago. This year he made honor roll at the community college and he’s looking forward to a more fulfilling future. #prouddad #parenting #chronicillness

Holy shit! My kid wrote a song that was recorded and released by a fellow singer/songwriter and it was included on a Pandora playlist which has earned the song more than 1 million views!! #ProudDad

But our boy is so popular/influencial with the kids of the street, he convinced their boy to have a bite of chicken liver and like it! 😂

Anybody that knows Ollie Man knows we have struggled getting him to eat food he has food sensory issues and we have been giving him some natural supplements and he’s become more open about eating so his report from school today said he ate most of his lunch which is huge 🥹 I’m so proud of him and also.
