I burst out into laughter when I saw this in the used bin of Round Again Records.
Solely a sentimental purchase, as I regularly watched WWF until about 1994, until I grew up, bought a guitar, started having sex, and stopped being a loser.
This contains the AWFUL “Land Of 1,000 Dances”.
So much cocaine.
A guilty pleasure…but a pleasure nonetheless.

I did not like the FNM reunion record Sol Invictus. For me, as far as FNM records go, it was pretty boring and predictable.
However, Superhero is one of two songs from the album I like, so finding the single works out nice. It’s just a bit dirty, so a quick clean once we’re home, and it’s good to go.

This is friggin sweet.
I bought the clear vinyl Porterhouse reissue a few years back, and it’s ok.
But this is clearly way cooler. 😎 And a promo press to boot, with the gold stamp over the barcode and a different hype sticker on the front.
Every one of these songs slay, but Sister Havana will always be in a class all its own.
Classic album opener.

In ‘94, I met David Yow at a JL show in #ProvidenceRI , and he signed my cassette copy of Down for me.
In my move to Canada in ‘07, it got lost.
I was heartbroken.
In 2010, I messaged him on Facebook to ask if I could get him my vinyl copy to sign as a replacement.
Not only did he respond, he gave me his HOME ADDRESS to mail it to.
A week later, this showed up at my door.

Sponge is responsible for a great concert experience I once had.
Back in the #90s , #ProvidenceRI radio station WBRU (now defunct) gave a free summer concert in the park with Sponge. They were THE LOUDEST BAND EVER. It was crazy.

And I remember some little 4-5 yr old kids that were there running around… and they started to CRY. The sheer volume scared the shit out of them.
It was hilarious.

Tempered by the clearly racist sentences by judge, Superior Court Judge Richard D. Raspallo. He makes excuses for the 'young' 21 yo white man who actually struck the woman and had driving violations with a limited sentence to home confinement.

While using prior dropped resisting arrest charges to send the 33yo black man with a family to prison.
