Nightly backup of 3 VMs using #ProxmoxBackupServer is now back to 9 minutes 🥳

No IO-Delay so far on #proxmox.

Last nights backup using #ProxmoxBackupServer took 2h instead of 6min. Can reproduce it and saw CPU utilization to be 100 % on the pbs. IO delay highly increased.
Maybe my host is just too weak. But will try it again without the agent later today.

I have never set up #SMTP on #Proxmox or #ProxmoxBackupServer and guess what?? I got a mail from the root@pbs.localdomain delivered to my #fastmail inbox 🤯

That is mind-blowing bc. I never really thought about the #federated architecture of mail. You don’t need „official“ servers, you just need #trust. Love it 🥰

FYI: Nightly backup is down from 24min to 6min and a lot less GB storage. 🥳

okay, I setup a #ProxmoxBackupServer VM with NFS mount to my NAS.

Backing up 3 VMs (200GB, 8GB, 32GB) using the pbs now takes 3min instead of 24min. 🎉
.. and should also take less storage because of incremental backup.

Let's see which time it takes tonight.

Thinking about setting up #ProxmoxBackupServer this afternoon to incrementally #backup my VMs. 🤔

Somehow sad that this is not included in #proxmox and you have to setup this separately.
Hmm but same as the UI #XenOrchestra for #XCPng.
