I love it when a conceptual #3dPrinting design works first time. Modular game-board frame for a very old copy of (The #Setters of) #Catan, before they switched to putting harbors on a cardboard frame.
You can *just* fit 2 pieces on a #Prusa mk3s+ bed!

#Printables upload later, on the niche chance that anyone else still has a copy this old!

(This isn't even my oldest copy, just the first english-language version I bought)

I forgot how much of a damn nightmare the #Prusa thermistor cable connectors are.

You keep saying “press the tab”, but this is not something human hands are capable of while also grasping a tiny 2-pin connector in a confined space.

I eventually shoved a small flathead screwdriver all the way in there and it came out. The socket is still mostly intact… the old connector, maybe not so much. #3DPrinting

Easy part: done

The hard part is getting all the wires into cable wrap.

Before I go to marktplaats, anyone in/around #Amsterdam interested in buying my #prusa #mk3s+? I’ve upgraded to a MK4. Why buy this one rather than directly from Prusa? 1) I built it from a kit so you know it’s good 2) I installed an #e3d #revo hotend so you can easily switch out your nozzle without a wrench. I’ve even updated the firmware to the current version which supports the revo. #3dprinting

apparently the 3d printer won't compensate when the bed has a not been full seated...Pffft

Anyone have any #3dprinting designs that specifically make use of a lot of different colors? I've got like 20 spools in all kinds of colors (mostly PLA), but I feel like I'm only ever using black and white..

As a Bonus, my AMS (aka MMU for the #Prusa folks) should get in by the weekend, so multi-color prints are on the table!

I'm printing hextraction right now, which is a great use of multiple colors, and I'm sure I'll continue to want new tiles down the road, just curious what else is out there

I tuned my #3dprinter. I printed 9 frames for some art. I made some wheel shelves to hold my bike on the wall. I made half of an advent calendar and a number of other things I am forgetting.

Then, we had a falling out. I have spent hours trying to get back to a calibrated state. Now, I am looking at getting a #Prusa because I am tired of this fight.

I use my #prusa 3d printer a lot, mostly for things around the house like these replacement hammock stand feet. Totally simple design, with a clever feature: Crushable half-tubes on the inside to add friction and prevent them from slipping off the tube steel. There is a 0.5mm margin on the inside dimensions of the foot, and the half-tubes have a 1mm outside radius before they are installed. Credit to my MechE spouse for the idea. #maker

Okay here’s something I’ve just noticed while my Prusa MINI+ is doing a long print. As it prints, it’s accumulating a droplet of melted filament on the right side of the nozzle which periodically drips off and creates a lump on my print. Why would this be happening and how can I stop it? #3DPrinting #maker #prusa

Bedslinger users, how often are you replacing your linear bearings?

I didn’t know better and never lubed mine and after six months they sound like grindy garbage. Is that typical life expectancy for a hobbyist?

Another question to the #3DPrinting community: is the top plate of the original #Prusa enclosure (for their not XL FDM printers) magnetics – so do magnets stick to it?

#TIL: The #threadripper torque wrench has the same nominal torque of 1.5 Nm as a #Prusa MK4 nozzle.
