1 de Septiembre 1870 las tropas del II Imperio Francés son derrotadas en Sedán por el Reino de Prusia. A las grandes pérdidas sufridas por los franceses hay que añadir la captura del emperador Napoleón III, lo que supuso un espaldarazo a las aspiraciones prusianas.

Prussia at 6 points in time. All necessary information and citations embedded on the images again.

Prussia is a region in eastern Europe /the baltics, also used to be a country. It went from a monastic order, to a divided secular state, to personal union, to empire until the end of WW1 before ending completely with the end of WW2. For more information if needed check the individual maps or ask me directly, cause that might take more than the character limit to give explanations.

Today in Labor History March 1, 1871: The victorious Prussian Army paraded through Paris after the Siege of Paris. Three weeks later, on March 18, radical soldiers from the French National Guard seized control of the city and established the Paris Commune. The workers controlled the city for two months. They abolished child labor and gave workers the right to seize businesses abandoned by the owners. They also dismantled the police and established their own self-policing. The French army quashed the commune beginning on May 21 with the Bloody Week. During that time, they slaughtered up to 20,000 people and arrested over 43,000.

Today in Labor History January 14, 1850: Anarchist Michael Bakunin was condemned to death by a Saxon tribunal while imprisoned in the Königstein fortress. In 1848, he had published his Appeal to the Slavs, arguing that Slav revolutionaries should unite with Hungarian, Italian and German revolutionaries to overthrow the Russian Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1849, he helped lead the May Uprising in Dresden. His Saxony sentence was later commuted and in 1851 he was handed over to the Russian authorities.
