I had to clean it with IPA before I stuck it in anything, but got a loaner foo.ancient USB stick that was covered in pollen.

One problem fixed, for the moment.

The banana bread turned out ok; the ends on the loaf pan are closer to soft cookies which was unexpectedly nice. {Probably because of using cold butter instead of softened}

The PS4 is still thwarting me. I don't have a USB thumb drive small enough (8gig or less; 16 smallest on hand) for safe mode boot/install? Tried all 3 USB ports & double-checked the playstation(.)pup file setup. At least I'm working from that premise because otherwise I'm looking at board issues :blobcatthinking:

I have one of the numbered PS4 Pros (longer story) and already had to send it back for warranty repair on the main board less than a year after I bought it (new).

Lately, Orbis seems to halt ungracefully (aka "shit-the-bed") on it and that takes out chunks of recently accessed data on the HD once I get it rebooted and semi functional. It may or may not fsck successfully after repeated reboots. I've had to reinstall from thumb drive twice since this summer. Whatever it's doing includes the initial inability to even find the internal HD. (Where I'm at w/it now. Again.)

Hoping it's just a bad hd controller then making sectors, & finally putting in a new one helps, but I'm worried there's something else chip-wise going on, or even some sort of buffer issue with the VR splitter box and libraries from resetting system PoV origin too many times.

I don't have SDK access, so just supposition from how/when this keeps happening.

Has happened ≈a dozen times or so since the start of the year? & that's a year after the warranty work. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got through 7 songs in #SynthRiders (video editing later), exited the app and it's just been sitting until the controller stopped responding even at the main menu level. However, PlayStation button still overrides for shutdown, it just fails to do so w/o hard crashing
