@johnefrancis In another life, decades ago I was on a #PSAC union training program with some federal meat inspectors. This was back in the early 1980's when inspectors were on site inspecting on a daily basis. The beef inspectors never ate beef. the pork inspectors didn't eat pork and the chicken inspectors didn't eat chicken. None of them ate any kind of sausage. That was WITH neutral government inspection. It's no longer the case today.
More money for Canada’s public service workers won’t cure an unhappy workplace

I'm constantly seeing misinformation about the #PSAC deal and members thinking that it's a better deal than it really is.
The one I keep getting pushback on is the telework thing where it's case-by-case. It does not materially change anything because once you get a written denial there's nothing you can really do about it
Here is an answer directly from #MonaFortier saying that it is not grievable where many people seem to think it is. https://youtu.be/o7BQj20yPkI?t=151
I don't know if PSAC is lying to its members or this is just overall confusion, but I'm doubtful that Fortier got something this big wrong.

PSAC Tentative Agreement is a pay cut. All Bosses are Bastards, union bosses too.

Here’s some happy #PSAC May Day news: After nearly two years of bargaining leading to one of the largest strikes in Canadian history, PSAC has reached tentative agreements for the more than 120,000 Treasury Board workers who deliver critical services to Canadians.

The #PSAC contract: includes language on remote work that gives members "additional protection" from "arbitrary decisions," and it requires managers to assess requests individually instead of by group, and give responses in writing to allow members and PSAC to "hold the employer accountable to equitable and fair decision-making,"
I think it's shocking how rarely management decisions are *not written down* in the civil service. It gives managers free reign to rewrite history or put their own personal spin on any policy at whim. This has been painfully demonstrated with the whole #WFH/#RTO debacle

Looks like the #PSAC negotiation team have come to a tentative agreement w/ government.
No strikes on May 1st! Progress!
The #PSAC strike appears to be over with a tentative agreement reached an hour ago. Fantastic news and I look forward to hearing more details in the coming days.
So-called "freedom convoy" types harassed striking #PSAC members at the #Sudbury Taxation office.
This is the true fascist face of the convoy movement.

@eastcoastcandice @zazzoo “Some private employers have told workers who want to stay home they will have to take a pay cut due to a perceived risk of lower productivity, he said.”
Ah yes. The “perceived” risk of lower productivity. Well I think that forcing people back in offices has a “perceived” risk of lower productivity! #PSAC #WFH
“Remote work is a perk, not a right.”
Ok, but so were both the 40-hour work week and weekends. What’s your point?
Meanwhile in #newBrunswick, an #nbpower truck plowed through #PSAC protesters in #oromocto. How are we allowing this to happen?!

One thing no one is talking about with the #PSAC public sector strike in #Canada is that it includes admin workers in federal #prison.
I talked with a federal prisoner last night who told me they have been locked down all week because of the strike.
So here's your friendly reminder that people who manage the misery of others are not workers. No solidarity to desk screws.
I’ll take false equivalencies for $500.
The answer is “PSAC Strike”
“What is not like the Convoy Occupation?”
To put it kindly, Western Standard - and other Convoy fluffers - are making completely inaccurate comparisons between the 2022 Convoy occupation of Ottawa and the PSAC strike. In doing so, they are minimizing the actions of the Convoy, and its impact on the people of Ottawa.
#PSAC walks a line right now - public support is a fickle thing.
