Hyper-realistic dreams, the kind that feels real-er than any waking moments, similar to an opiate trip really, the kind you wake up from briefly, unsure which side is up and what is reality, flip your eyelids a couple of times trying to understand where (when?) you are and then return to on the spot.
A couple more rounds and I finally wake up, stand up, drink my coffee and tell my partner we should check the composition of the nuts we had as a late snack... And sure enough the nuts where roasted in wheat. Can't make that shit up. Wheat: the strongest drug I've ever known, nothing even comes close to it (and I've been around...)
Filling myself with anithistamines in the hope to avoid the incoming migraine. Everytime this happens I'm shocked I made it through the 1st 20 years of my life of hyper vivid dreams, daily migraines not to mention the ups and downs involved. Today my body feels numb, half-asleep the mind is slow, opiate-likes are doing their thing. Tomorrow or the day after, it will hit my brain real bad, atypical migraine they call it, I'll want to die, then the migraine will recede but my joints will start acting up, I'll be hungry like I haven't eaten in a week and I'll feel depressed, teary eyes for a couple of days followed by 36 hours where I'll be as hyperactive as it get, cleaning time, more verbal than ever, I'll seem, for all intent and purposes as if coked up (which is one of the reason before I got my Dx dr.s always assumed the worst)
Wheat, both the strongest and worst drug known to this body courtesy of #PseudoAllergies via #SystemicMastocytosis NGL, sometimes I miss these dreams and the way my brain switches gears, but the pain. Oh the pain just ain't worth it.
(All my direct relatives -who share that diagnosis, and are also on the spectrum btw- react the same way to wheat, and I do say wheat because no, it seems, it ain't gluten but another allergen therein contained. This is not a particular common occurence amongst #MCAD #MCAS patients, I actually never met anyone outside my family who described that phenomenon, but for us it never, ever fails. If anything this is the best case scenario as in, I'm not in danger, I won't need to go to no hospitals, no anaphylactic shock or organ failure, just the dreams, the pain, hunger and a little added weirdness)
